East Lodge Holiday
Cottage, Pitlochry
East Lodge is one of these rare
properties. It is a quaint and slightly quirky country property that was
originally built as a two roomed gate house for Kindrogan Estate and
dates from the early 19th Century. Indeed there is a passing
reference to the lodge made by Queen Victoria, in her journal of 1866,
when she visited the area. By 1879 the cottage had been enlarged and
remained an estate cottage until it was sold in 1969. The cottage has
recently been extended to include a large lounge, with log burning stove,
and master bedroom with en-suite
shower-room and breakfasting balcony.
The Cottage has a spacious open
plan kitchen and dining area with an archway which leads down into the
lounge area. In addition to the master bedroom there are two twin
bedrooms and a family bathroom and downstairs WC. The lounge leads out
onto a large decked sun terrace which overlooks the river Ardle.
We
also have a selection of other idyllic
accommodation for rent. River Cottage www.pitlochrycottages.com
